Listen to what Paul was doing before he got save;
Gal 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion (religion), how that beyond measure I (Paul) persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
Gal 1:14 And profited in the Jews' religion (religion) above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
Here' s where deception come from.
Acts 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you (the Church), not sparing the flock.
Acts 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Acts 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
2Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people (Israel), even as there shall be false teachers among you (the Church), who privily shall bring in damnable heresies (false doctrine/teaching), even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Peter 2:2 And many (not a few, but a hold lot of people) shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth (word of God) shall be evil spoken of.
So do you real think you can afford not to know the Holy Bible.
