The Great Reformers and Protestants Movement

Dispelling another falsehood that is widely believed in the religious world, which comes out of the great Reformers and Protestants movement that was born out of Catholicism. Martin Luther taught in his Ninety-Five Theses in 1517, that all you had to do is believe and that was good enough to be saved.

James 2:14-23

14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith (confidence in the word of God), and have not works (have no actions or do not obey God’s word)? can faith save him?

15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17Even so faith (confidence in the word of God), if it hath not works (actions/obedience), is dead, being alone.

18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works (actions/obedience): shew me thy faith without thy works (actions/obedience), and I will shew thee my faith (confidence in the word of God) by my works (actions/obedience).

19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works (without obedience) is dead (it becomes just talk)?

21Was not Abraham our father justified by works (his action of obedience), when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

22Seest thou how faith wrought (worked) with his works (actions of obedience), and by works (actions of obedience) was faith (confidence in the word of God) made perfect (complete)?

23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Abraham believed God and obeys him this is what made him righteous and a Friend of God. He didn’t try to figure out another way around God true salvation plan or just flat out didn’t obey him.

Acts 2:38-39

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized (fully submerge in water) every one of you “in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,” and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all (everyone) that are afar off, even “as many as the LORD our God shall call.”

Acts 4:12

12Neither is there salvation (deliverance from sins) in any other: for there is none other “name” under heaven given among men, whereby we must (have to be applied to your life to) be saved.

Acts 22:16

16And now why tarriest (wait) thou? arise, and be baptized (fully submerge in water), and wash away thy sins, (doing what?) “calling on the name of the Lord.”

Mark 16:16

16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that “believeth not shall be damned.”

What is this lie just believe without being baptized, faith without obedience. Mark Luther started this lie and it should have die with him.

Acts10:39-48

39And we (Apostles) are witnesses of all things which he (Jesus) did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

40Him (Jesus) God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

41”Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.”

42And he (Jesus) commanded us (Apostles) to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he (Jesus) which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick (live) and dead.

43”To him (Jesus) give all the prophets witness,” that “through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”

44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard (understood) the word.

45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the “Gentiles” also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46For they heard them “speak with tongues, and magnify God.” Then answered Peter,

47”Can any man forbid water,” that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48And “he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.” Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19

1And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5When they heard this, they were "baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."

So this is the salvation plan for all the world, the Reformers and Protestants movement has only carry the people farther away from the truth. Before you put your hope in something get the facts.
